Is it really happening? Can one of the "Spring Break Young Guns" be in jeopardy of losing his PGA Tour Card?
Smylie Kaufman is in the prime of his life, living the dream. He is one of the famous can't miss twenty-somethings that broke onto the scene two and a half years ago with a win at the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open with a closing 61.
Now? Some weeks he has trouble breaking 80.
Smylie is ranked 209 in strokes gained this year and has made only 3 cuts in 15 events. The Sanderson Farms Championship is his only bright spot with a T4 result.
He recently became a husband last week and I hope and pray married life turns his golf game around. It has done wonders for some in the past.
His confidence is gone and so is his golf swing.
Right now I wouldn't want to be walking around in his shoes...by the way, I do have in my possession a pair of his golf shoes he discardedd at the Farmer's Insurance Open.
If he ever wants them back, I'll gladly turn them over...if he let's me help him with his golf swing.
